Third geostatistics course. Structural analysis for Kriging / cokriging.

Introduction

This Third geostatistics course. Structural analysis for kriging / cokriging is a continuation of the two previous courses related to geostatistics, Geostatistics Course for Beginners. Creating algorithms with R for QGIS. Univariate analysis and Second geostatistics course. Bivariate analysis with R and QGIS.

In the first course, we saw how to complete a professional univariate analysis using QGIS and R. That analysis was executed during the exploratory data analysis. In the second course, we were still working on the exploratory data analysis area, but in this case was for the bivariate analysis. Now, in the third course the goal is to work in the area of structural analysis.

In this third course we are going to be focus in the next tree points:

1) variogram estimation and interpretation;

2) fit of the theoretical model to the experimental variogram, and;

3) model validation.

Course objectives

The goals of this third course are:

1) Learn the basic of the geostatistics associated with the structural analysis

2) Acquire knowledge on performing professional structural analysis

3) Become proficient in the tools used in the structural analysis

4) Gain understanding in coding with R

5) Learn how to integrate the R scripts in QGIS

6) Acquire skills in QGIS associated with the spatial analysis

Course requisites

It is fundamental to have knowledge related to univariate and bivariate analysis in the area of exploratory data analysis before to take the Third geostatistics course. Structural analysis for kriging / cokriging.

It is not necessary to have previous knowledge in structural analysis. In this third course, the explanations are going to be very simple and with real examples or potentially real. Thus, it is a step-by-step course, easy to follow and easy to apply what you are learning.

From GeoRGB Community, we hardly recommend to take the two previous courses before to start the third one.
